HOLIDAY HOUSE
YANAKIE, VICTORIA
The project brief requested the design of a low-cost holiday house solution on a gently sloping and partially wooded site in rural Victoria.
The house needed to provide comfortable accommodation to meet the needs of a multi-generational family.
Two co-joined shipping containers delivered both the living, sleeping and wet room amenities.
Whilst an external timber decking with a translucent roof and a green rooftop terrace on top of one of the containers provided both functionality and external interest.

External finishing options included painted metal, timber cladding, or metal (powder coated steel).
Foundations could be either concrete footings or screw pile stumps with the positioning of the containers in the centre of the site to maximise passive solar gain.
