DOUBLE STOREY HOUSE
The design combines four re-purposed shipping containers with conventional construction methods to create a multi-level house.

Taking advantage of a view from a slightly sloped site, the kitchen, dining and living rooms are located upstairs and open to a wide veranda, with a “green roof”.
On the ground level, an independent block of two co-joined containers ensures comfort and privacy for the master bedroom and two guest bedrooms.
Between the bedroom block, the double garage, workshop/storage and adjacent laundry room block, a spacious entrance hall includes a metal staircase with winter garden underneath.
Positioned in a glazing wall facing the main entrance of the house, the metal staircase provides an important visual element of the house façade.
Bricks and wood soften the industrial look of the shipping container whilst the corrugated metal delivers an industrial and contemporary appearance to the design.
